Effective April 16th of this year, the requirements for manufacturers concerning the efficiency of the hot water heaters made and sold will be shifting positively towards greater energy savings, but negatively towards our pocket-books. There are also more strict building code requirements for how these hot water hears are to be installed. Both of these things ultimately mean that the cost of installing even a standard hot water heater will increase by around 25%.
